3 Steps To A Positive Mindset

Remaining positive is key for workplace success and satisfaction. Whether your project has faced a major setback, you've gotten into difficulty with a colleague or superior or simply feeling a little run down, your own positive thinking can be the thing that turns it all around.

1.) Write a gratitude list

A simple but effective one, writing down a list of things you are grateful for reshapes your mindset and redirects your thoughts. These things can be as simple as being grateful for a comfortable chair, or a seat by the window, a joke you heard earlier. This is a great way to focus on the positive for a few minutes and move forward from a place of gratitude.

2.) Go for a walk

Getting out of a busy office environment and taking a quick walk can totally refresh your mind. Blood circulation and a little bit of exercise can also boost your mood. Try going for a brisk walk around the block next time you're feeling negative or stuck.

3.) Turn off the noise

It can be challenging for anyone with a busy work schedule to block out the constant notifications from emails interruptions from colleagues and shrill phone calls. It is however a very important part of refocusing. Try turning of your notifications working somewhere more quiet away from your desk even if just for a couple of hours. This way you have some uninterrupted focus time to get the urgent done and make progress which will help you feel empowered, in control and ultimately more positive.
